The Stewardship Committee is chaired by Hugh Heaton, who also serves with Willie Hill on the Property Committee, Barney McClendon and Maggie Posey. Maggie also serves on the Personnel sub-committee. The Stewardship Committee oversees and organizes special offerings such as The Joy Gift and the Peacemaking Offering and also works closely with the Mission Committee to reach out to our local community. The committee also oversees the financial records of St. Paul's operating budget. They were instrumental in getting approved the Permanent Funds Ministry Policy, which is an investment fund in place for receiving estate contributions. Stewardship not only addresses God's call to our tithes and gifts, but encompasses using our time to help support the mission of His church and sharing our talents which He has richly bestowed upon us. Supporting God's church is not all about reaching into your pocketbook, although that is an important necessity, it is also about the time you share serving as an usher or greeter, or helping the Property Committee around the grounds, or helping the Worship Committee address how we can worship God in meaningful ways, or simply praying for your St. Paul brothers and sisters and the people of the world. God blesses us with many talents as well. You may be comfortable speaking in public and can serve as Liturgist one month, or you may have great organizational skills and would be willing to help keep the choral music filing system up to date, or you may be great with kids and can help in Sunday School, or you are an undiscovered singing talent and desire to join the choir. There are many ways to share your time and talents and Hugh, Barney or Maggie would be happy to steer you towards the committee or task that you feel called to serve.

The spotlight for Rose Hammett is shining bright for it is her Stewardship call of both time and talent for the care she gives to each loaf of bread she bakes which is served in Communion. She heard God's call to serve His church in the area of Worship and her unceasing love and commitment in providing the loaves of bread is an example of how she shares her time and talent for God.
