Special Prayer??? Did you know that Saint Paul has a prayer circle that will pray for you or someone you care about when there is need of special prayers? You may call the Church office from 9 a.m. until Noon during the week or leave a voice mail for the pastor or Betty Trout. Your request will be confidential if you so desire. The members of the prayer circle have promised to pray for the person for 7 days. If you would like to be part of the prayer chain please let Walker or Betty Trout know!

| LOVEY DOLLS for Cook's Children's Hospital
|
Sit ‘n’ Sew Saturday’s The Sit 'n' Sew gathering was held on Saturday, July 30 and the Lovey Doll charity project (pictured above) had a great turnout! Thanks and recognition go to Pam Harbaugh, Lisa Giacomel, Linda Akins and Dick and Bita Schmidt. They cut and stuffed while the Sit 'n' Sew ladies sewed up the seams to add the finishing touch. Thanks also, to the Session for allowing our group to use the church building. And my list of thanks wouldn't be complete without saying thanks again to Macklyn Hill. She really got this project off to a great start and we wouldn't have been nearly as successful if it wasn't for her. Cooks Children's Hospital will receive 40 Lovey Dolls as a result of everyone's efforts. I would also like to thank my personal friends, Cheryl Payne, Kay Loftin and Sharon Carter who joined me to support the Lovey Doll project and gathered together for a day of sewing fun and fellowship. Arlene Schneider was able to join us later in the day and my friends really enjoyed seeing the antique quilt blocks and quilt top she had with her. Arlene finds real treasures at garage sales and she had some in the quilting she shared with us. Our group is already looking ahead to the next get together which will be in October. Preliminarily, it looks like it might be either the 15th or 22nd and we'd like to invite the ladies of St. Paul to join us. We'll follow the same format by working on the Lovey Dolls for a couple of hours in the morning and then we'll break and spend the remainder of the day working on our own projects. Finally, I would also like to extend a thanks to all members of St. Paul. Even though you may not have been there in person, I know you were there in spirit and the support I've felt from everyone towards the Lovey Doll project has been tremendous!! Thank you so much!!! Please RSVP if you’re interested or would like more information. Contact me by e-mail at ak3e@swbell.net or call me at 817-656-1181, so I can add you to the Sit ‘n’ Sew e-mail list. Thanks. Joyce Kirkpatrick
